Easter weekend is always such a lovely time in the Beach Cities. The entire town turns out for Easter egg hunts, specialty dining at local restaurants, and time with family on the beach. We like to showcase some of the special opportunities to enjoy spring in the Southbay when we can, and this week we want to tell you about the annual Earth Week celebration at the gorgeous and relaxing Terranea Resort.
The South Bay community is working towards sustainability and environmental responsibility, so we take Earth Day, on April 22, very seriously. But Terranea wants to show you how to be serious about the environment while also treating yourself to some serious fun. The Terranea Earth Week happens April 21 through April 25, 2014, and because this is Terranea’s 5th anniversary, the resort is celebrating for five whole days. All the activities taking place at Terranea during the celebration are “green” and are designed to increase awareness of the environment (while also letting you have the time of your life). There will be a pelican release, an ocean cleanup that you participate in while in a kayak, and a demin drive.
Of course, they offer a Sunday brunch on Easter Sunday if you’d rather just support the eco-friendly resort by eating. The champagne brunch will feature an Easter egg hunt and a petting zoo, so it’s a perfect way to show your little ones how wonderful spring holidays can be in the south bay.
